If your home is broken into and your television is
stolen, you claim on your buildings insurance for the
damage to your house but on your contents insurance
for the theft of your television. Some insurers will
offer you a discount if you take out both buildings
and contents insurance with them. This may simplify
things when you come to claim, but you will not necessarily
be getting the best deal either in money terms or in
terms of getting the cover you require. To find out
if any combined policy deal is worthwhile, you need
to get quotes and details of cover for separate policies.
